In the latest frenzy of political madness, a crowd of hundreds converged in Phoenix to rally behind none other than Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Yes, the man from the famous Kennedy clan, even though he’s nowadays embraced by the far right. The eclectic mix of individuals who turned out to hear his musings shared only one thing in common: a deep paranoia about the government, the media, and big corporations. They all gobbled up Kennedy’s unsubstantiated conspiracy theories like he was dishing out free candy.

Take Gilbert Limon, a middle-aged pharmacist, for example. He eagerly lapped up Kennedy’s rhetoric, praising him for “talking like adults” and giving them the “truth.” Meanwhile, Enriqueta Porras, a physician who once voted for Hillary Clinton, but now supports Trump, finds herself torn between her allegiance to Kennedy’s anti-vaccine crusade and her desire for Biden’s defeat. Who says conservatives don’t know how to keep things interesting?
Kennedy’s controversial stances on vaccines and his anti-corporate, anti-government tirades have won him a cult-like following. His supporters criticize big pharma, distrust the media, and fear losing their precious freedom of speech. Debra Sheetz, a self-avowed Biden voter, has become disillusioned with the president’s pandemic policies, and now sings Kennedy’s praises for speaking “to what people really care about.”
And let’s not forget Curt Eastin, a professional coach, who now finds himself firmly in Kennedy’s camp after losing faith in Biden. He values Kennedy’s honesty, even if he doesn’t necessarily agree with him.
Kennedy’s journey into independent politics is no walk in the park, though. He’s on a quest to gather a million signatures nationwide, and he’s not afraid to throw a whopping $15 million at the problem to ensure he gains access to the ballot in several states. And that’s not all – Kennedy is keenly aware that his supporters are shunning mainstream media and singing his praises through alternative sources like online podcasts. Young people, in particular, are flocking to his side, which may make all the difference in the upcoming election.
