In a glaring display of liberal bias, a recent article shined a spotlight on Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen. But instead of an honest assessment, it read more like a dream story devised by a leftist PR team. They whitewashed a serious issue, ignoring inconvenient truths about illegal immigration and crime, just to paint a rosy picture.
One key element in the slanted narrative is Kilmar Garcia, a man who should never have been in this country to begin with. Here’s a man with deep connections to criminal enterprises like MS-13, backed by legal findings and law enforcement evidence. Yet, the piece casually dismissed this, labeling his gang ties as “mistakes” of the previous administration. If evidence from law enforcement and two judges isn’t convincing enough, then what is?

It’s not just about gang affiliations. Garcia was unlawfully present in the United States and had a removal order against him. These are simple facts, but they were conveniently left out. Labeling him as a “Maryland resident” or a Van Hollen “constituent” is not just misleading—it’s an outright attempt to manipulate public perception by avoiding the hard truths about illegal immigration.
The oversights didn’t end there. There were allegations of spousal abuse against Garcia, along with other interactions with the law, including human trafficking suspicions. Yet, these details were swept under the carpet. How can they defend offering support for someone with such a background while ignoring the rights of actual American citizens like Rachel Morin, a true constituent who suffered at the hands of an illegal immigrant?
In a move bordering on absurdity, they painted Van Hollen as some sort of hero for simply visiting El Salvador. With improved safety conditions in the country, this manufactured danger narrative is laughable. Van Hollen placing his safety on the line is a stretch that defies belief.
Do liberals ever tire of such blatant one-sidedness and hypocrisy? When will they put the safety and rights of American citizens first? Perhaps the better question is, do they care?
