The media circus surrounding the Signal chat leak is nothing short of a liberal frenzy, more concerned with spinning a fictional narrative than addressing reality. The story has been blown out of proportion, reminiscent of the mainstream media’s penchant for dramatics. Ironically, as this hype escalates, Trump’s approval ratings continue to rise. Apparently, the American public is more interested in China’s growing influence and the border crisis than the latest ephemeral misstep of Trump’s former staff.
The whole situation boiled down when Jeffrey Goldberg from The Atlantic found himself uninvited in a Signal chat with some of Trump’s top officials, which was orchestrated by National Security Adviser Michael Waltz. In this chat, discussions about anti-Houthi operations took place. However, the publication’s claims about secret war plans being thrown around are pure fabrications; no classified information crossed those digital lines. The political elite scraping at the bottom of the barrel simply needed a new story to distract from their own mounting failures.
The main takeaway? The liberal outrage appears wildly misplaced when juxtaposed with the glaring failures of the current administration. While this clumsy mishap garners headlines, Joe Biden’s military blunders, which cost American lives, hardly make a dent in the media’s conscience. The actual scandals, like secretive meetings that led to disastrous military decisions, seem to fly under the radar. Instead, the incessant howling from liberal outlets has become a running joke among those with any semblance of political awareness.

Calls for accountability continue to echo, but no terminations are on the horizon. The media may push for heads to roll, engaging in their humorous takes about who might get the axe, seemingly ignorant of their own boss’s blunders. It’s ironic that public figures like Jonathan Martin overlook mistreatment within the administration he supports, all while attempting to pin the tail on Trump’s folks. The apparent lack of self-awareness is stunning when contrasted with Biden’s own Secretary of Defense, who, after vanishing for weeks during a crisis, still clings to his position like a toad on a hot rock.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin deserves a penalty for his abysmal leadership during the Afghanistan retreat and for going radio silent when the nation needed him. He certainly didn’t face the music for a deeply flawed withdrawal that resulted in American lives lost, nor for his days-long absence as chaos erupted abroad. In fact, while Trump’s aides get dragged through the mud over a mere chat, it appears the standards applied to this administration are lower than a snake’s belly. American voters witnessed the past four years clearly enough to know that this uproar is nothing but a classic case of liberal media amnesia, and yet another reminder of where the real accountability should lie.
