The Left’s anticipated reaction to President-elect Donald J. Trump’s impending tenure is as predictable as the sunrise. Just imagine the fury that will emerge if he dares to introduce an initiative aimed at curing cancer—liberals would probably turn that into a protest against scientific progress. Fasten your seatbelts, because Trump’s plans for mass deportations of illegal aliens, particularly those with criminal backgrounds, are on the way, and the Democrat party will soon realize that their power to resist might as well be a sandcastle at high tide.
Taking to CNN, liberal commentator Julie Roginsky has declared her intentions to be among the activists disrupting any attempts at deportation. In an exciting display of over-the-top theatrics, she brought up the notion that troops might fire upon the crowds. Scott Jennings, another panelist, was left to clean up the absurdity. Rolling his eyes, he noted that these doomsday scenarios were a bit much—implying that Americans are not facing down a Tiananmen Square situation, but rather a straightforward deportation that doesn’t involve military tanks rolling into New York.

Interestingly, the idea of “illegal aliens being dragged out of shelters” in New York City has sparked some chatter. This might even be made easier if Mayor Eric Adams, currently under federal scrutiny, is forced to play ball. Who knows, he might soon be seeking a pardon just to stay in the good graces of his liberal base. Meanwhile, Gov. Kathy Hochul is singing a different tune, promising to notify ICE about criminal aliens, showcasing a striking divergence in the Democrat playbook—if this is their version of standing up for legal processes, one can only imagine how confused they must be feeling right now.
The real kicker here is that the Democrats seem to have completely missed the memo on public sentiment regarding mass deportations. Conservatives are well aware that ridding neighborhoods of criminal aliens boosts safety and community trust. The Left will soon find itself stumbling over the very logic of why someone with a record of child rape should be permitted to stay in the country. Spoiler alert: there aren’t any good reasons. Let’s face it, the case for letting criminals run free will not resonate well with the average American.
