Senate Majority Leader Joe Manchin of West Virginia couldn't say for sure if he thinks President Joe Biden is the best Democratic choice for president in 2024. Manchin said that he didn't know of any other possible candidates who might be "willing to get into the race." At this point in time, it's not clear if Biden is the best choice for Democrats, especially since his age and low approval numbers are causes for concern.

Other Democrats, like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Marianne Williamson, and Terrisa Bukovinac, are also running for the party's nomination at the same time as Biden. But Manchin thinks that Biden will be "the choice" of the Democratic Party right now. Still, polls on Biden have been all over the place, showing that the race between him and former President Donald Trump is very close.
Manchin was said to be thinking about running for president as an independent in 2024, which is an interesting fact. This year, he said that he was really thinking about this choice. In the same way, Kennedy Jr. is said to be thinking about dropping out of the Democratic primary and running as a third-party candidate. He said that there would be a "major announcement" on Monday, which could help explain his choice.
On the Republican side, Trump officially announced his run for president in 2024 last year and has stayed ahead in the party's primary race. He has to deal with people like Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Tim Scott, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy. As long as Trump wins the Republican nomination, he and Biden could run against each other again. Polls show that there isn't much of a difference between the two, but a lot of people are unhappy with both of them.
In general, the political situation is getting more complicated and unclear. The Democratic Party needs to think deeply about whether Biden is really their best option.
