The mayor emphasized that their focus should be on following the law. Another surprising twist in Adams’ narrative was the mention of a potential pardon from former President Donald Trump. During the conversation, Trump stated that he would consider pardoning Adams, calling the treatment he received unfair. Adams, however, indicated that he hasn’t requested such consideration from Trump. When questioned about whether he would ever consider returning to the Republican Party—as he once identified as a Republican—Adams firmly maintained his stance as a Democrat.
