Jonathan Capehart, the host of the left-leaning MSNBC, found himself in hot water when he tried to defend failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on air. Capehart falsely claimed that Clinton’s private server scandal was not as bad as former President Trump’s because she did not have classified documents on her server. According to Capehart, Clinton’s emails were simply filled with cooking recipes and appointment reminders. However, fellow panelist Gary Abernathy quickly set the record straight.
Abernathy, a Washington Post contributing columnist, pointed out that former FBI Director James Comey confirmed that many of the emails found on Clinton’s server were indeed classified and could have been accessed by foreign agents. While it is unclear whether these classified emails contained nuclear secrets, it is concerning nonetheless. Abernathy also highlighted that numerous emails were deleted before they could be examined, making it impossible to know the full extent of the damage.

It is alarming to see Capehart’s blatant attempt to downplay the seriousness of Clinton’s private server scandal. This is a clear example of the biased and factually inaccurate reporting that is often found on MSNBC. While Clinton may not have been charged for her actions, that doesn’t diminish the gravity of the situation. The mishandling of classified information by a high-ranking government official should never be taken lightly, regardless of political affiliation.
Once again, MSNBC proves that they are more interested in pushing their own narrative than reporting the facts. It is crucial for viewers to seek out multiple news sources and form their own opinions based on the full picture, rather than relying on the biased commentary of hosts like Jonathan Capehart.
