In a shocking turn of events, New York City has agreed to pay a whopping $13 million to rioters who participated in the 2020 George Floyd-BLM riots. Yes, you read that right, folks. These individuals claimed they were subject to police brutality and mistreatment during the riots, and now they’re going to be rewarded for their destructive behavior.

Now, I don’t know about you, but in the real world, if you engage in violent and unlawful activities, you generally face consequences. But apparently, in the twisted logic of New York City, rioting pays off. These rioters will each be eligible for approximately $9,950 in compensation if the settlement is approved. That’s nearly ten grand for throwing rocks, setting police cars on fire, and causing chaos in the streets. Talk about a good deal!

City attorneys argued that law enforcement was simply responding to an “unprecedented and out-of-control situation.” Well, no kidding! When you have people running around burning down buildings and attacking innocent civilians, the police are going to step in and restore order. But apparently, the city believes that the actions of the rioters are somehow the fault of the police. It’s a classic case of blaming the wrong people.
What’s even more outrageous is that this settlement means that neither side will have to admit any wrongdoing. So in essence, the rioters get paid, and the city gets to avoid accountability. It’s a win-win for the lawbreakers and a loss for the hardworking taxpayers who will foot the bill. But hey, at least now we know that crime does actually pay. I guess it’s time for everyone to start rioting and looting. Who needs a job when you can just destroy property and get a fat payout?
In the end, this settlement sets a dangerous precedent. It sends a message to future rioters that they can get away with their destructive behavior and even profit from it. So get ready, folks, because it looks like we’re in for more chaos and destruction in the future. And the saddest part is, we’ll all be paying for it.
