Petito, a vivacious young woman with dreams of adventure, was silenced by the coercive control and violence of her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, during what was supposed to be a cross-country journey of discovery. The documentary sheds light on the insidious nature of domestic abuse while exposing glaring lapses in law enforcement and societal awareness that contributed to her untimely death.
Gabby’s relationship with Laundrie initially appeared idyllic, as evidenced by their social media posts showcasing their #vanlife adventures. However, beneath the surface lay a toxic dynamic marked by Laundrie’s controlling behavior.
