Vice President Kamala Harris has more than her fair share of gaffes and mistakes to her name, but the most recent crash she was engaged in doesn't, for once, appear to be her own doing, which is a welcome change.
The Secret Service initially stated that a "mechanical failure" was to blame for a small car accident that featured Harris; however, a later report stated that an agent drove into a curb, which caused a tire to blow. The accident also implicated Harris.
According to the Washington Examiner, the car that was transporting Harris did not collide with any other vehicle, and the only thing that appears to have caused the accident was an error made by a Secret Service member. Following the collision, the Secret Service moved Harris to a different vehicle and then drove her to the White House.
On video, Secret Service officials can be seen waiting for the procession to continue, although the actual crash itself was not seen on camera.

Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the Secret Service, provided a summary of the incident.
According to what he said in an interview with the Washington Post, during a protective maneuver on Monday, a car in a motorcade had a little overcorrection and hit a curb. The protected individual was moved to a different car, and the procession proceeded to its destination. There were no reports of anyone being hurt.
Kirsten Allen, the spokeswoman for the Vice President, stated that the Secret Service did an excellent job handling the accident.
The Vice President did not receive any injuries and is grateful to her USSS detail for responding so quickly to transport her to the White House in a secure manner, the press secretary added.
Although Service Director Kim Cheatle was not there at the time of the incident, she expressed that the original report of a mechanical breakdown had her somewhat concerned; nevertheless, the later report put her mind at ease.
There was no communication from the Secret Service.
