U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) has taken a bold step by filing a Complaint of Judicial Misconduct against U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee known for making controversial rulings in cases related to Trump and January 6.
Stefanik is not holding back in her complaint, calling for an ethics investigation into Howell's conduct, particularly focusing on a "highly inappropriate political speech" delivered by the judge. Stefanik criticizes Howell for her supervision of legal proceedings against President Donald J. Trump and his allies, as well as her oversight of Biden Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigations.

Stefanik also takes issue with Howell's praise for former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and acting Attorney General Sally Yates, both of whom served under President Obama. Stefanik accuses Howell of cozying up to the "pantheon of other champion awardees" and "living heroes in the law."
Furthermore, Stefanik highlights Howell's public speech where she warned about the rise of fascism in America if former President Trump were to be re-elected. Stefanik condemns Howell for making partisan statements that go beyond the expected impartiality of a judge.
