President Donald Trump wowed the crowd with a masterful address filled with patriotic fervor and inspirational anecdotes. However, the Democrats decided to showcase why they remain the party of petulance. Rather than engaging constructively with the speech, they resorted to childish antics—holding up absurd signs and making a scene, with Rep. Al Green of Texas taking the prize for worst behavior by getting himself booted from the event.
Even outlets known for their liberal slant, such as MSNBC, couldn’t disguise their disappointment in the Democrats’ juvenile display, directing their critiques not only at the performers but also at the leadership that allowed this embarrassing behavior to unfold. It’s a curious sight when even the liberal media acknowledges just how out of touch the Democratic response was.
Dana Perino of Fox News provided perhaps the most incisive commentary of the evening. She noted that Trump’s earlier remarks about the futility of seeking applause from the Democrats proved prescient. Their inability to cheer for remarkable stories, like a young cancer survivor or the reunion of a 95-year-old mother with her son freed from Russian captivity, underscored a heartless agenda. It’s becoming clear that a venomous hatred for Trump has rendered them wholly incapable of recognizing anything good or inspiring.

Perino’s analysis didn’t end with this clear indictment of the Democrats’ behavior. She deftly ridiculed the so-called protest signs, which ranged from the misguided to the absurd. Signs like “Save Medicaid” and accusations against Elon Musk barely scratched the surface of nonsensical. Their antics only reinforce their reputation as unhinged, disconnected from the reality faced by everyday Americans. Insisting that someone is “stealing” from them while promoting their entitlement narrative reveals an embarrassing lack of coherence.
In a moment of biting humor, Perino suggested a more fitting sign for the Democrats: one that simply reads “UNCLE.” This perfectly encapsulates their predicament, as they continue to plummet in public approval—currently sitting at a dismal 21 percent. Instead of recognizing their faults and resetting their direction, they’ve doubled down on a strategy that only deepens their crisis. Any Democrat who takes their party’s antics seriously should take a long, hard look in the mirror and feel nothing but shame for what they’ve become.
