The heartbreaking tragedy of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray’s rape and murder by an illegal immigrant is one more stark reminder of the dangers Americans face due to unchecked border policies. The family of this innocent victim sees a glimmer of hope in former President Donald Trump’s attention, an acknowledgment from a leader who has consistently stood strong on the issue of illegal immigration.
Jocelyn’s grandfather, Kelvin Alvarenga, expressed his gratitude to Trump for reaching out after the tragedy. Alvarenga’s words were a testament to the heartfelt connection between Trump and the victims of crimes committed by illegal immigrants. In contrast to Joe Biden’s indifference, Trump’s personal gesture showed empathy and recognition of the pain Alvarenga’s family endures.
Jocelyn’s mother, Alexis Nungaray, was visibly moved when Trump personally called to offer his condolences right before the first 2024 presidential debate. She, along with her family, was understandably shocked that within the heat of his campaign, Trump took time out to address their loss and express his prayers. This act speaks volumes about Trump’s commitment to American families and their safety, a stark difference from the current administration.
The details of Jocelyn’s murder are horrifying. Two Venezuelan illegal aliens lured her under a bridge, tied her up, and killed her before dumping her body – all after the suspects had been released by federal authorities. This gruesome crime underscores the deadly consequences of weak border enforcement, which has only worsened under the Biden administration.
The family, quite rightly, criticized Biden’s reckless border policies. They emphasized that Jocelyn’s death, and the deaths of countless others, should never have happened. Until there are reinforced measures at the border, American lives will continue to be in jeopardy. With over 17 million illegal immigrants having crossed the border since Biden took office, the crisis is becoming unsustainable.
The Democratic Party continues its refusal to take accountability for its open-border policies which have resulted in atrocities, rampant lawlessness, and states bearing the brunt of this national security disaster. The question remains, how many more innocent lives need to be lost before there is a realization that strong borders are essential for a safe and thriving America?
