Donald Trump’s lawyer Todd Blanche strongly accused Michael Cohen of lying during the trial about hush money paid to Stormy Daniels. This claim was backed up by evidence of phone records and text messages that contradicted Cohen’s previous testimony. These records showed that, at the same time Cohen claimed to have spoken with Trump about Daniels, he was actually messaging Trump’s bodyguard about harassing calls he had been receiving.

Blanche grilled Cohen about how the phone call could have been about Daniels, and emphasized the lack of any mention of Daniels in Cohen’s prior depositions or statements. Blanche pointed out that Cohen only made the claim that the call was about Daniels after rehearsing his testimony with the prosecution team.
This revelation undermines Cohen’s credibility, as it calls into question the accuracy of his testimony. If Cohen’s recollection of the conversation with Trump is unreliable, it puts into doubt the entire case against the former president. The prosecution’s reliance on Cohen’s testimony is a risky strategy, given his apparent inconsistencies and the potential influence of the prosecution team on his statements.
