Former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in his scathing criticism of President Joe Biden’s management of the border crisis and inflation concerns ahead of Biden’s State of the Union address. In a spirited prebuttal video released just prior to Biden’s speech, Trump sharply rebuked the current administration for the "devastating" consequences he attributed to their policies, accusing Biden of evading accountability through falsehoods.
Trump took the opportunity to highlight his own actions addressing immigration during his tenure in the White House. He proudly recounted leaving Biden with what he termed as the "most secure border in U.S. history," citing measures such as the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy, Safe Third Country Agreements, asylum restrictions, implementation of Title 42, construction of 571 miles of border wall, and expedited deportations. Trump asserted that his administration left Biden with the "safest border in the history of our country."

Immigration has emerged as a focal point, with Trump and Biden recently embarking on border visits that resembled a political standoff. Trump openly pointed the finger at Biden for the surge in illegal immigration, expressing concern that the nation could potentially face nearly 20 million undocumented newcomers by the end of Biden’s term, including individuals from mental institutions, prisons, and even terrorists.
In addition to immigration, Trump criticized Biden over the rising inflation levels, which have placed financial strain on American households. Trump dismissed Biden’s attempts to downplay inflation by introducing the term “shrinkflation,” viewing it as a mere euphemism for inflation and indicative of the administration’s mishandling of economic policy.
Highlighting what he perceived as successes during his own presidency, Trump contrasted his administration's record of "no inflation" and a robust economy with the challenges faced under Biden. He even invoked his famous catchphrase, stating, “It’s time to tell crooked Joe Biden, ‘You’re fired.’”
As Biden prepared to address the nation, immigration and the economy loomed large as contentious issues, with Trump and Biden engaging in a rhetorical battle over their respective administrations’ approaches to these critical matters. The stage was set for a high-stakes showdown as the two political heavyweights squared off in the political arena.
