Trump’s Border Chief Defends Tough Policies Against Dem Criticism

President Trump’s border czar, Tom Homan, made it clear that all credit for securing the border goes to the president. During a recent interview on The Chris Salcedo Show, Homan praised Trump’s tough policies, saying they’ve stopped chaos at the southern border. He highlighted how the administration focuses on deporting dangerous criminals and gang members, putting American safety first.

Homan didn’t hold back when discussing Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant deported to El Salvador. He blamed Garcia for breaking U.S. laws and dismissed claims that the deportation was unfair. “If you come here illegally, you’re responsible for the consequences,” Homan said. He also praised El Salvador’s president for cracking down on gangs, making the country safer than before.

Democrats have criticized the Trump administration for being too harsh, but Homan fired back. He accused them of caring more about protecting criminals than American citizens. “They want us to let terrorists and gang members stay,” he said. Homan pointed out that under Biden, borders were wide open, leading to disasters like child trafficking and drug smuggling.

The border czar also addressed reports of missing migrant children. He admitted many are still lost because the previous administration failed to track them properly. “We’re working hard to find every child,” Homan said, promising Trump’s team won’t quit until they do. He blamed lax policies for letting kids fall into the hands of traffickers.

Homan defended using military planes to deport illegal immigrants, calling it a necessary step. “We’re sending a message: break the law, and you’ll be removed,” he said. This approach has already led to a 600% increase in deportations of gang members and violent offenders. Homan stressed that enforcing laws deters future illegal crossings.

The Trump administration’s partnership with El Salvador has been key. Homan praised President Nayib Bukele for cleaning up gangs and making his country safer. “We’re not just deporting people—we’re ensuring they go back to a better situation,” he said. This teamwork, he argued, shows Trump’s smart leadership on the world stage.

Critics claim the deportation push is cruel, but Homan called that nonsense. “The real cruelty is letting drugs and violence flood our streets,” he said. He accused Democrats of ignoring the suffering caused by open borders while pretending to care about immigrants. “They had years to fix this—they did nothing,” Homan added.

Finally, Homan tied border security to protecting American jobs. “Illegal immigration drives down wages and hurts workers,” he said. By enforcing the law, Trump is standing up for blue-collar families. Homan vowed to keep fighting until every threat is removed and the border is fully secure. “President Trump won’t back down,” he said.
