Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito put the brakes on a Texas law that would allow the Lone Star State to round up and deport immigrants coming in from Mexico. But hold your horses, folks! This ain’t over yet.
Now, Justice Alito, appointed by a Republican, has hit the snooze button on the law until the Supremes can mull over a request from the Biden gang to scrap the law for a longer stretch of time. Yessir, the deadline for making up their minds has been pushed back to Monday at 5 p.m. EDT.

If this law, known as Senate Bill 4, kicks in, it would make sneaking across the border a big ol’ no-no, and give Texas law dogs the green light to grab and send back anyone they reckon snuck in. And get this – if you get caught more than once, you could be stuck behind bars for up to 20 years. Yikes!
Some smarty-pants judge said no way to enforcing the law, calling it all kinds of un-American. But then along came the 5th Circuit and said, “Eh, let’s give it a shot,” but told ’em to hold their horses until the feds had their say with the Supremes.
The Biden bunch is whining to the high court, saying this law would ruffle Mexico’s feathers and mess up their chummy relationship. Meanwhile, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a proud Republican, is standing his ground, saying the feds ain’t doing squat to fix the border mess, so Texas had to take matters into its own hands.
So, there you have it, folks. The Lone Star State is looking to rope in those sneaky border-crossers, and it’s up to the Supremes to decide if they can make it happen. Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of “Immigration Showdown: Lone Star Edition!”
