Former Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) has been confirmed by the Senate to serve as the U.S. representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, a move that has stirred up quite the controversy among conservative circles. Despite losing his seat in a swing-district to a Republican in 2022, President Biden still decided to nominate Maloney for the prestigious ambassador title. The nomination passed by a 63-31 margin, much to the dismay of many conservatives across the country.
What’s even more shocking is the fact that Maloney’s nomination nearly went up in flames thanks to the meddling of none other than Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). She threatened to vote against his confirmation due to his involvement with Coinbase, the nation’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. However, in a dramatic turn of events, Maloney promised to Warren that he would resign from all of his private sector advocacy roles if confirmed and would also recuse himself from making any decisions related to digital assets. Of course, Warren then folded like a cheap lawn chair and agreed to support his nomination. Typical liberal hypocrisy at its finest!

It’s no secret that Maloney is a close ally of the notorious Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), which should have been reason enough to question his nomination. But of course, the Democrat-controlled Senate pushed him through, cementing his position as the U.S. ambassador to the OECD. Maloney wasted no time and quickly relocated to Paris last year to be near the OECD headquarters. And just like that, another liberal elite bureaucrat is given a cushy, taxpayer-funded job in a fancy European city.
Conservatives are shaking their heads in disbelief at this flagrant display of political favoritism and backroom dealing. It’s clear as day that the Democrats are using their power to reward their cronies with high-paying positions, while hardworking Americans foot the bill. The swamp is alive and well, folks, and the confirmation of Sean Patrick Maloney is just the latest example of it.
