In a surprising turn of events, President Biden has decided to flip-flop on his stance regarding the border wall. Despite criticizing former President Trump’s efforts to secure America’s southern border during his campaign, Biden has now given in to the pressure of the ongoing migrant crisis and started building a wall of his own. Oh, the irony!
According to USA Today, a total of 26 federal laws, including those related to environmental protection, are being waived to expedite the construction of these barriers. This move shows that Biden is more interested in curbing illegal immigration than in preserving the environment. It’s refreshing to see a president prioritize the safety and security of our nation over political correctness.
The White House even announced that funds allocated during the Trump administration for wall construction will be utilized. This proves that Biden recognizes the effectiveness of physical barriers in preventing unlawful entries into the United States. It’s great to see a president willing to learn from his predecessor’s successes, even if it means contradicting his own previous statements.
Despite this obvious backtrack, Biden’s DHS Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, insists that there is “no new Administration policy with respect to border walls.” He claims that the funds were set aside in 2019, conveniently keeping the blame away from the current administration. It’s amusing how politicians try to twist words and avoid taking responsibility for their actions.
Of course, critics have wasted no time in pointing out the hypocrisy of the Biden administration. The conservative comedy duo, The Hodge Twins, took to social media to express their thoughts. They rightly questioned why the left isn’t accusing the Biden administration of racism and fascism for wanting a border wall, given their past condemnation of Trump’s efforts. It seems that the left’s principles conveniently change depending on who is in power.
Let’s not forget that Vice President Kamala Harris is also guilty of flip-flopping on this issue. During her bid for the Democratic Party’s nomination, she referred to the border wall as a “medieval vanity project” and claimed it had nothing to do with the safety of the American people. It’s amazing how quickly politicians forget their own words when it’s politically convenient.
In conclusion, President Biden’s decision to build a border wall after criticizing Trump’s efforts is a clear example of his willingness to prioritize national security over political rhetoric. While some may call it flip-flopping, I see it as a sign of a president who is unafraid to reassess his positions and take action that benefits the American people. It’s about time we had a leader who values the safety of our nation above all else.
