Oh, folks, here we go again! The world stage was set at the Vatican for the Pope’s funeral, and guess who stole the spotlight? None other than former President Donald Trump, of course! As if it were a scene straight out of a movie, Trump made his grand entrance, riding through the Vatican amid a motorcade that would make any Bond villain jealous. White-gloved hands ceremoniously opened the doors of “the beast,” and there he was, dapper as ever. The man knows how to make an entrance, and everyone noticed.
Now, let’s shift our attention to President Joe Biden, who was also there, albeit with much less fanfare. Striking was the contrast between Trump, who seemed to be the center of gravity, and Biden, who might as well have been invisible. Trump had a whole entourage of world leaders lining up to shake his hand and exchange pleasantries. Meanwhile, Biden looked a bit lost in the crowd, surrounded by empty chairs, and few, if any, dignitaries vying for a chat. It was almost like watching a forgotten kid during recess.
To make matters worse, Biden had what appeared to be a massive bandage on his hand, which somehow added to his forlorn presence. Of course, it’s not the best look when you’re trying to project strength and vitality. Add to that the image of him, seemingly needing assistance from an elderly priest to navigate the steps, and one couldn’t help but wonder if he’s simply out of place. It’s almost comedic how Biden was tucked away ten rows back, while Trump basked in the limelight at the very front.
Let’s not skip over Melania, who graced the event with an elegance reminiscent of a classic Hollywood star. Wearing her hair covered as a sign of respect, she complemented Trump excellently, making quite the powerful duo at the solemn event. On the other hand, Jill Biden seemed less camera-ready, caught in unflattering comparisons that are making rounds across social media like wildfire.
But the real kicker was the global leaders’ choice of company. Even the Iranian Minister of Culture got a seat that overshadowed Biden’s. Talk about an embarrassing political snub! It was painfully clear who had the attention of the movers and shakers on the international stage. With Trump shaking hands, exchanging nods, and chatting up other leaders, it highlighted a striking dichotomy between perceived relevance and reality. Guess it shows who’s still in the cool club, folks!
