Dem Senate Hopeful Arrested for Threatening Trump, Congress

The FBI has arrested Raymond Chandler III, a Pennsylvania Democrat who had recently launched a long-shot U.S. Senate campaign, after investigators say he left a string of violent voicemails that targeted President Trump and a member of Congress and their family. Federal prosecutors charged Chandler with threatening and attempting to influence a federal official, a shocking escalation from angry rhetoric to criminal conduct that endangers public officials and the rule of law.

According to the court affidavit, the messages were graphic and chilling, at times urging a congressman to shoot the President, describing throat-slitting scenarios, and even boasting about plans to build gallows for elected officials. The filings also say Chandler openly spoke about organizing “armed resistance” against ICE and expressed willingness to “go to war” and “personally kill,” language that crosses from political passion into violent conspiracy.

The threats span a disturbing timeline, with voicemails allegedly left between April 2025 and April 2026 and a federal arrest in early May 2026, showing how long this dangerous rhetoric festered before action was taken. Law enforcement did the right thing by stepping in once the threats became credible; American patriots should be relieved that federal agencies treated what could have been real violence with the seriousness it deserved.

This is also a test of our national media and the Democratic establishment’s commitment to condemning violence. Too often, violent language from the left is downplayed or rationalized as frustration, while the same outcry would be deafening if a Republican uttered identical words; the double standard erodes trust and excuses dangerous behavior. Conservative Americans should demand one standard: violent threats are unacceptable no matter who utters them, and they must be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Beyond politics, the practical danger is immediate. We’ve seen isolated attacks and assassination attempts ripple through the country; when public figures and aspiring officials flirt with talk of armed insurrection and gallows, it invites copycats and puts everyday citizens and law enforcement at risk. Leaders on both sides should be unequivocal: calls for armed resistance are criminally reckless and morally indefensible, and they must be stamped out so communities can be safe and free.

Patriots who cherish ordered liberty should take this as a wake-up call. Vote for candidates who defend the rule of law, support our police, and reject the weaponization of anger into violence. Our republic depends on citizens who will stand for freedom without descending into the mob mentality of threats and terror.
