Democrats Want Chaos: Push to Abolish ICE Endangers Us All

On Sean Hannity’s program this week, White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller laid the blame for recent bloodshed squarely at the feet of a newly radicalized Democratic movement that celebrates spectacles like “abolish ICE.” Miller warned that when elected officials and candidates peddle lawlessness as policy, the predictable result is emboldened violence and real casualties on American streets.

Michigan Senate hopeful Abdul El‑Sayed’s repeated calls to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement have become emblematic of that radicalism, with El‑Sayed openly arguing the agency is beyond reform and should be dismantled. Conservatives rightly see this as not just reckless rhetoric but a direct attack on the men and women who enforce our laws and protect our communities.

Miller pointed out, as many on the right have observed, that performative anti‑ICE stunts and indulgent media coverage create an environment where threats and assaults against officers spike and accountability vanishes. That isn’t hyperbole; the debate over enforcement has been accompanied by a real uptick in hostility and targeted attacks on law enforcement, which Democrats too often excuse or ignore.

If Democrats want to abolish ICE while simultaneously criticizing the officers who keep dangerous elements off our streets, they should at least be honest about the consequences of their agenda. The federal government has recently expanded enforcement capacity, adding thousands of officers at a time when the policy debate should focus on security and order, not applause lines for dismantling institutions.

The choice for patriotic Americans is clear: either we defend the rule of law and the institutions that uphold it, or we reward a brand of politics that flirts with chaos and then wonders why the country becomes less safe. Republican leaders and voters must seize this issue in the midterms, hold the radicals accountable, and stand with law enforcement so hardworking families can sleep safely in their homes.
