Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is continuing to prove his commitment to Florida’s parents and families by expanding school choice. DeSantis just signed a bill that represents the most significant expansion of education choice in both the state and the United States’ history. This monumental legislation solidifies Florida’s position as the number one state for educational opportunities.

The DeSantis War Room Twitter account recently suggested that President Joe Biden should follow the governor’s lead on school choice. Biden had previously stated his belief that every child should have access to every education opportunity possible, and DeSantis has shown that he lives up to his promises.

DeSantis has been a strong advocate for education reform, signing bills such as the Stop WOKE Act and the Parental Rights in Education Act. Critics have unfairly dubbed the latter bill the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, but their lawsuits against it have been dismissed. DeSantis is even proposing expanding the scope of this law to further empower parents when it comes to their children’s education.
While the president has faced criticism for not doing more to promote school choice, DeSantis’ commitment to educational opportunities for all continues to gain momentum across the country. Polling shows that DeSantis is the closest contender to beat Biden in the 2024 presidential election, with Biden leading by only 0.3 percent according to the RealClearPolitics average. Florida has set the blueprint for opportunity for children, and it’s time for Biden to take note and follow suit.
