The wacky liberals in Minnesota are at it again! According to MinnPost, these tree-hugging cities have been struggling to make their public transit all eco-friendly and zero-emission. But surprise, surprise, they’re failing miserably!

In their never-ending quest to virtue-signal about the environment, cities like Duluth and the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul have been pushing for electric buses. However, these buses can’t handle the freezing cold temperatures that are as much a part of Minnesota winters as hotdish and ice fishing.
It turns out that these electric buses can only go a fraction of the distance they’re supposed to in subzero weather. And to add insult to injury, they break down twice as often as good old-fashioned diesel buses.
To make matters worse, the charging stations for these buses are a hot mess, or should we say, a cold mess? Duluth has been dealing with constant malfunctions and glitches, while the Twin Cities have been struggling with unreliable equipment. Not to mention, the buses can’t even keep riders warm in the winter.
These cities got federal grants to buy these malfunctioning buses from a California company called Proterra. Proterra filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, leaving these cities high and dry with no immediate vendor for replacement parts and service.
Teton County, Wyoming had the same disaster with Proterra’s electric buses, and they’re one of the wealthiest counties in the nation. And who do you think they voted for in the last election? You guessed it — Joe Biden, the king of all things liberal.
It’s no surprise that these urban areas in Minnesota are pushing for electric buses despite all the issues. After all, they’re Democrat strongholds, so of course, they’re wasting taxpayer money on these failed experiments.
This is just another prime example of how liberals are out of touch with reality, especially when it comes to dealing with harsh winter temperatures. But hey, at least they’re “saving the planet,” right?
