Greg Steube, a Republican congressman, has officially endorsed President Trump as the presidential frontrunner, with a declaration against governor Ron DeSantis. During a Newsmax interview, Congressman Steube expressed his disappointment about the Biden administration’s decision-making for the United States’ future. Steube emphasized that only one individual can revoke “these disastrous policies” that the Biden administration has put in place, and must do so after winning the election, and that person is former President Donald Trump.
Steube further mentioned that Trump has earned a massive amount of support from his district and Florida as a whole, another sort after state in the presidential elections. Also, Governor Ron DeSantis has yet to receive a single endorsement from Florida’s congressional Republican delegation. This move signals that the former president, who recently remarked that he “won’t rule out a possible presidential bid,” is well-positioned to secure the Republican nomination once more.

Governor DeSantis will need to be careful if he decides to run for office, especially if he decides to take on the former president, particularly as he balances with other Republican contenders struggling for a spot. A survey taken last month of Republican voters showed that 72% believed the former president for the GOP had made a good impression.
Congressman Steube is the fifth Florida Republican to vow support to Donald Trump, joining forces with Anna Paulina Luna, Byron Donalds, Cory Mills and Matt Gaetz. Over the past week, DeSantis’s political team has been trying to stop the flow of support away from his probable campaign for president by approaching at least six Florida congressmen. However, as of yet, it has yet to produce results.
