The idea was to enable clerks, who would claim to be victims of these robberies, to help the fraudsters apply for U visas based on the supposed crimes committed against them. Talk about a heist with a side of immigration scheming!
According to the prosecutorial powers from the Massachusetts District Attorney’s office, this dubious crew was illegally hopping around multiple states, including Massachusetts, Kentucky, and Ohio. It’s clear that they had more than just the United States in their sights; they were treating the law like a smorgasbord, picking and choosing from different states as if they were buffet options.
