In a tragic turn of events, Tajh Boyd, a 19-year-old football player at Liberty University in Virginia, has passed away just weeks before his 20th birthday. Head coach Jamey Chadwell and athletic director Ian McCaw expressed their sorrow in a department statement, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the loss of one of our student-athletes, Tajh Boyd.” The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Boyd, a promising 6-foot-4, 295-pound freshman from Chesapeake, Virginia, was known for his athletic abilities. He had secured two state titles after being heavily recruited from Oscar F. Smith High School. The Liberty Flames expressed their condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Tajh’s family, his teammates and friends, our football coaching staff, as well as our entire athletics department and the greater Liberty University community.”

It is truly heartbreaking to lose such a young and talented individual. Tajh Boyd had an incredibly bright future ahead of him. It is a loss not only for his family and friends but also for the Liberty University community.
