Israel Special Forces Execute Daring Hostage Rescue in Gaza Raid

Israel just made public video of its special forces saving hostages taken prisoner by Hamas during a raid on Nuseirat, in central Gaza, in a daring and audacious move. Three out of the four captives—Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv—are shown in the video, which was uploaded on the official Telegram account of the Israeli Police. Helmet cameras captured the elite Yamam counter-terrorism squad and Shin Bet agents moving under fire toward the structure housing the hostages.

Hamas was holding the detainees in the home of Palestinian journalist Abdullah Al-Jamal and his father, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jamal. Before dying in the raid, Abdullah had worked for The Palestine Chronicle and the Qatari state-affiliated media outlet Al Jazeera.

Concurrently, a neighboring structure was used to free female captive Noa Argamani. But when the special forces' cover was exposed following the release of the captives, there was a shootout in Nuseirat. The captives were safely led to a location close to the American-built dock in Gaza and flown to Israel despite the confrontation.

The special forces had planned and trained for the successful operation for over a month after learning of the captives being kept in civilian homes in Nuseirat. To surprise their enemies, the action was carried out in broad daylight.

Furthermore contributing to the mission's success was a "fusion cell" established in Israel with assistance from analysts of Israeli and American military intelligence. This team located the captives by using overhead photos and intercepted communications.

Israel is committed to safeguarding its citizens and acting decisively against terrorist threats, as the rescue effort demonstrates. It also emphasises how closely American and Israeli military intelligence collaborates to fight terrorism.
