Left’s Corrosive Rhetoric Fuels Deadly Assaults on Conservatives

America is waking up to a pattern of politically motivated violence that no one on the right can afford to ignore, and it’s time to call the left’s rhetoric what it is: reckless and corrosive. When conservative speakers can be gunned down on campus, ordinary Americans who believe in law and order rightly ask who is creating the climate that makes these attacks possible.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, wasn’t an isolated tragedy but the sort of targeted political attack that should horrify every patriot who values free speech and civil debate. Authorities say the suspect was identified and arrested after a nationwide manhunt, a grim reminder that violent extremists will act when they believe the culture will excuse them.

Just two weeks later, a sniper-style assault on an ICE processing facility in Dallas left detainees dead and wounded and featured clear anti-ICE messaging left by the shooter, proof positive that hatred directed at federal agents translates into real-world carnage. Conservatives aren’t making excuses for anyone who picks up a gun, but we are rightly demanding accountability for the poisonous rhetoric that treats law enforcement as villains.

This is not a new problem; it’s part of a rising pattern of attacks that has included multiple assassination attempts in recent years, underscoring a disturbing breakdown in public discourse and security. Lawmakers and law-enforcement officials have repeatedly documented attempts on political figures and the growing brazenness of would-be attackers, and yet too many on the left reflexively deflect responsibility.

Predictably, the political establishment responded with the usual playbook: some on the left pivot straight to calls for broad gun restrictions while excusing or minimizing the ideological fomenting that precedes these incidents. Republicans and conservatives, meanwhile, have pointed out the clear line from vilifying language to violent action—and ordinary Americans are fed up with being told to look the other way.

Hardworking Americans want two things: safe streets and the freedom to speak, worship, and assemble without fear that a mob or a murderer is waiting in the wings. Conservatism demands both accountability and courage—hold violent actors to account, prosecute them to the fullest extent, and stop normalizing rhetoric that treats opponents as enemies to be slaughtered rather than citizens to be persuaded.
