Every day brings another performance from the left’s grievance industry, and hardworking Americans are tired of the show. Instead of letting facts guide us, Democrats and their media allies rush to amplify the worst possible narrative because fear and anger are their political oxygen. Real tragedies deserve measured investigation, not theatrical grandstanding designed to harvest outrage and donations.
Last week a viral clip from children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel declared, “Black people don’t hang themselves from trees,” and urged followers to “listen to the Black community,” claiming multiple cases had surfaced this year — a line that instantly set off social-media hysteria. Influencers and politicians seized the moment, turning a handful of very different investigations into a single, terrifying story before the facts were in.
But when law enforcement actually produced evidence, the narrative collapsed: in Raleigh police say video shows the man walking to the tree carrying a cord and investigators have treated the death as a suicide, not a lynching. That didn’t stop the left from screaming “lynching” on cue; their reflex is to weaponize every headline into proof of perpetual white malice. Americans who believe in due process should find that behavior dangerous and corrosive to the rule of law.
Meanwhile the Jackson, Mississippi, case that has driven much of the online alarm is still being examined by medical examiners and reported on by mainstream outlets, and families understandably demand answers while officials stress the need for forensic work before drawing conclusions. National outlets have cataloged a string of disturbing deaths that merit careful, independent review — not instant verdicts from TikTok prosecutors. Communities deserve both compassion for grieving families and the patience for proper investigations.
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett used a July hearing to paint the country as if “they are still trying to do it today,” invoking America’s tragic past and blurring history with present-day accusations. There is a place for remembering historical evils, but there is no excuse for turning grief into a political cudgel that presumes guilt without proof. If Democrats want trust, they must stop stoking panic and start demanding transparent evidence, not cable-TV performances.
Patriots and neighbors should insist on two things: respect for the grieving and for the investigative process, and an end to cheap partisan panic that corrodes civic unity. We must defend truth over tribal theater — call out the grandstanders, support independent inquiries, and refuse to let fevered social media mobs dictate verdicts before autopsies and evidence are complete. America is stronger when citizens demand facts, not narratives engineered for clicks and campaigns.
