Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sounded off on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s indictment of former President Donald Trump, stating that Bragg’s actions prove that the American legal system can be used as a tool for abuse by those pursuing political agendas. According to Townhall, a Manhattan grand jury has charged the former president with felony charges in connection with “hush money” payments made to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential race.

Pompeo pointed out that while prosecuting serious crimes helped keep Americans safe, political prosecutions put the American legal system at risk of being viewed as a tool for abuse. He called on Bragg to use tax dollars to protect citizens rather than going after political opponents. Many reports suggest that Pompeo is mulling over the idea of running for the Presidency in the coming years.
Prosecuting serious crimes keeps Americans safe, but political prosecutions put the American legal system at risk of being viewed as a tool for abuse. DA Bragg – spend taxpayers’ money and your energy protecting law-abiding citizens. Not playing politics. (2/2)

If Democrats can pursue a former President who is currently fighting to take back the White House, there are no limits to what they can do to any American citizen. The situation should serve as a wake-up call for everyone across the political spectrum that the left is using any tool possible to oppress political opponents. The only way to fight back against political persecution is by electing leaders who will stand up to those who abuse their powers for political goals.
