NYT Critic Cringes at Cartoon Dads Teaching Values!

Conservative media firebrand Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire, known for riling up liberals, has struck a nerve with leftist New York Times pop culture critic Amanda Hess. She’s triggered and can’t fathom the idea of a stay-at-home dad who actually adores his kids. Hess took aim at the Australian cartoon “Bluey,” sneering at the depiction of Bandit the dog as an exceptional father and housekeeper to his pups while mommy Chilli works. According to Hess, Bandit is a fantastical figure, existing to cater to both adults and children. But, let’s be real here, who wouldn’t want a dad like Bandit? He’s like Mary Poppins, crafting a fun and loving household for his pups.

Hess didn’t stop there. She also targeted The Daily Wire’s new cartoon, “Chip Chilla,” because, shocker, it features involved parents. The horror! This time, it’s the dad who homeschools, teaching classic history through interactive plays with his kiddos. But of course, Hess disapproves of this conservative portrayal, decrying it as a right-wing fantasy combatting perceived public school indoctrination. She snidely dismisses it as featuring lessons about “dead white people” and classic texts.

In her twisted view, Hess insists that cartoons should sideline moms and dads to let kids experience “risk, adventure, failure and growth.” Yeah, because that’s what every responsible parent wants for their child – to toss them into the wild without any guidance whatsoever, right? It’s like Hess is living in Upside-Down Land where left is right and up is down.

Hess, like her left-wing cohorts, has a deep-rooted disdain for traditional family values, believes that men couldn’t care less about their children, and thinks kids should navigate life’s treacherous journey all on their lonesome.
