Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has taken the fight straight to the left’s money machine, filing a lawsuit that accuses ActBlue of allowing fraudulent and even foreign donations to flow through its platform while misleading Congress and the public about its safeguards. For patriotic conservatives who have watched career politicians get paid off behind closed doors, this is long overdue — someone in public office must call out the corruption and demand transparency.
Paxton’s probe, which began as an investigation in late 2023 and forced ActBlue to tighten at least some security measures like requiring CVV codes, uncovered what his office calls a startling number of suspicious and untraceable contributions. The Attorney General’s team formally petitioned the FEC and even made a criminal referral to the Department of Justice after documenting patterns that suggest straw donations and other illegal schemes to dodge campaign finance laws.
Unsurprisingly, the Democrat-aligned platform pushed back with its own federal lawsuit, accusing Paxton of abusing his office and trampling constitutional rights. But let’s be clear: suing to avoid scrutiny is a defensive move, not a vindication — wealthy political operatives and online fundraising giants don’t get a pass by pointing fingers when questions about foreign money and hidden donors are raised.
A federal judge temporarily halted Paxton’s case, with the court calling the suit retaliatory in tone, but legal delays shouldn’t be equated with innocence. Americans deserve an impartial probe that isn’t preemptively silenced by procedural rulings; accountability can’t be hostage to courtroom theatrics while election integrity is on the line.
Congressional staff investigations have since exposed that ActBlue loosened fraud-prevention rules in 2024 even as evidence of extensive suspicious contributions accumulated, which only underscores the need for rigorous oversight. If the platform is treating donor vetting like an afterthought while funneling money into American elections, lawmakers must act to close loopholes and restore voters’ trust.
