Congress just showed us that you can never take your eyes off the so-called “principled” Republicans. On April 16, House Democrats made a desperate grab to rip away President Trump’s authority over war powers. They came one vote away from succeeding – and shockingly, that final vote came from a Republican: Thomas Massie of Kentucky. That’s right, Massie broke ranks and stood with the leftist “Squad” instead of defending Trump and American sovereignty.
The Squad never hides its disdain for Trump. They want to punish strong leadership and tie the hands of anyone who dares to put America first. These are the same Democrats who, when they’re not fighting for open borders or bashing our police, insist that the president should be powerless on the world stage. Now, Thomas Massie has decided to join this anti-Trump coalition. Maybe the Democrats should let him into their socialist club – he’s earned his membership.

This isn’t about debates or fine print – the facts are simple. Trump’s ability to protect our security depends on strong executive powers, especially when foreign enemies are lurking. The left doesn’t care. Their goal is to kneecap the president, embarrass America, and hand yet another win to globalists and foreign adversaries who hate our values. When Massie sided with them, he didn’t just betray Trump – he turned his back on every patriot who believes America shouldn’t bow to foreign threats or weak-kneed politicians.
What’s especially galling is the blatant hypocrisy of the Democrats. When Obama was in charge, these same “progressives” barely blinked at executive action – in fact, they cheered him on. But the moment a president stands up for the American people instead of the UN or the global elite, they scream for restraints and drag so-called “Republicans” like Massie along with them. They’ll do whatever it takes to undermine conservatives, even if it weakens the nation.
True conservatives know exactly what’s at stake. America’s enemies are watching. When Democrats and their Republican enablers attack the president’s war powers, they’re rolling out a welcome mat for chaos abroad and weakness at home. The left wants to pretend that stripping power from Trump makes us safer. In reality, it just makes us easier targets. With conservatives like Massie, who needs the Squad? Maybe it’s time voters start asking: whose side is he really on?
