Rubio Leads Global Charge Against Far-Left Political Terrorism

America’s leaders are finally treating political violence for what it is: a threat to our nation’s safety and to the rule of law. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has taken the bold step of convening representatives from more than 60 countries to confront a resurgent wave of far-left political terrorism that too many in the old guard dismissed as mere protest rather than organized violence.

The State Department’s spokesman made the point bluntly: this is not hyperbole but a real, transnational problem with “assassinations, kidnappings, violent threats against U.S. facilities and law enforcement” on the list of behaviors the government will not tolerate. That clarity is refreshing after years of equivocation from the establishment media and career bureaucrats who excused violence when it fit their narrative.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has rightly pushed the smart part of the strategy — follow the money and choke off the financial networks that let these groups organize and strike. Using financial tools, sanctions, and designations against those who fund or facilitate political violence is a legal, effective way to protect Americans without trampling civil liberties.

This is not hypothetical. Law enforcement has disrupted violent plots and arrested conspirators planning attacks on high-profile events and government targets, proving that the threat is real and actionable. The FBI and prosecutors have pursued cases that show how violent ideologues and foreign-directed actors can try to weaponize outrage into murder-for-hire schemes and coordinated assaults on American soil.

Too many elites and allies tried to shrug this off, refusing to see the pattern until conservative leaders forced the conversation. It’s on Republicans who believe in law and order to back policies that protect Americans, support our police and intelligence professionals, and refuse to let ideological bias blind us to violence from any side. The alternative is complacency, and complacency invites catastrophe.

Hardworking patriots should be grateful to see the administration act decisively instead of posturing. We should demand transparency, vigorous prosecutions, and robust international cooperation so the next generation can live free from the fear of political violence, while holding the media and soft-on-crime politicians accountable for their years of wishful thinking.
