In yet another hilarious display of incompetence, Joe Biden’s latest judicial nominee, Robin Meriweather, struggled to answer basic legal questions during her Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. It’s become a recurring theme that whenever a nominee faces Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) and his simple questions, they crumble like a house of cards.
Meriweather, a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the District Court for the District of Columbia, was being considered for the Court of Federal Claims. However, when Sen. Kennedy asked her how many motions she had argued or cases she had tried in the Court, she embarrassingly admitted that she had zero experience. You would expect someone nominated for a court position to at least have some familiarity with the court they’re being nominated for, but apparently not in Biden’s world.

But the real fun began when Sen. Kennedy asked Meriweather about the grounds for granting a new trial in the Court of Federal Claims. After dancing around the question and consulting imaginary rulebooks, Meriweather ultimately confessed that she had no idea what the grounds were. It’s truly astonishing that someone with “extensive civil experience” and familiarity with court rules couldn’t even answer such a basic question. Is this really the best candidate Biden could find?
To make matters worse, Meriweather stumbled again when Sen. Kennedy asked her about a “contract of adhesion,” a common concept in the Court of Federal Claims. Despite her supposed expertise, she drew a blank and admitted ignorance. Shouldn’t a nominee be expected to know the fundamentals of the court they hope to serve on? It’s clear that Meriweather’s qualifications are as thin as a piece of tissue paper.
Sen. Kennedy also brought up a case where Meriweather’s decision had been subsequently reversed and questioned her judgment. Instead of addressing the concerns directly, Meriweather squirmed and tried to dispute Kennedy’s characterization of the case. It’s clear that she lacks logical reasoning and the ability to defend her own decisions.
This is not the first time Sen. Kennedy has exposed the incompetence of Biden’s judicial nominees. Just recently, another nominee withdrew her nomination after failing Kennedy’s test. It seems that Biden’s team is so desperate to fill up the courts with their biased cronies that they’re neglecting basic requirements like competence and knowledge.
It’s disappointing to see Biden’s judicial appointments falling apart like a poorly constructed Jenga tower. Our courts deserve qualified and knowledgeable judges who uphold the Constitution, not puppets who struggle to answer simple questions. It’s time for Biden to rethink his nominations and give the American people judges who will serve justice with integrity.
