Skeptical Fulton County Judge Keeps Trump RICO Case on Tight Leash – October Trial Still On!

In a recent hearing, Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee denied motions to sever the cases of former Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro in the Georgia RICO case. The case, brought by District Attorney Fani Willis, alleges a criminal conspiracy related to the 2020 presidential election. However, Judge McAfee expressed skepticism about the trial date for all 19 defendants, which is currently set for October 23.

As a conservative Republican, it’s no surprise that the judge sees through the prosecutor’s plan to try all 19 co-defendants together. The idea that this complex criminal case, with over 150 witnesses, can be ready for trial in just seven weeks is absurd. It’s like expecting a hamster to climb Mount Everest – it’s just not gonna happen! And let’s not forget that there are still issues to be sorted out for some of the defendants, like Mark Meadows, who may have their cases moved to federal court.

If the judge insists on trying all the defendants together, it’s highly unlikely that the trial will happen in October. In fact, it may not happen until 2024! But hey, who’s in a rush to get this over with, right? The wheels of justice move at a snail’s pace, especially when it involves politicians and their cronies.

Powell and Chesebro’s lawyers argued that their cases should be severed since the allegations against them are different from the others. They believe it would be unfair for their clients to sit through weeks, if not months, of trial where the evidence doesn’t even pertain to them. But the prosecutors claim that they need all the witnesses and evidence to prove the conspiracy. Sure, let’s just make it a four-month circus show for everyone involved, because that makes perfect sense!

In the end, Judge McAfee seems to be leaning towards trying all the defendants together for the sake of “judicial economy.” But as a conservative, I can’t help but think that this is more about pushing the parties to speed things up rather than ensuring a fair trial. Only time will tell if any of these cases actually make it to trial in October, but my money’s on no. And I’ll be here, ready to provide updates and sprinkle in some of my conservative commentary along the way. Stay tuned, folks!
