The guest argued bluntly that what happened overseas — a sudden, massive surge of migrants overwhelming local authorities — could replicate here if we refuse to learn the obvious lessons.
The crisis in Spain is not hypothetical. Spanish authorities reported thousands pouring into the North African enclave of Ceuta in a matter of days, prompting Madrid to deploy the military to restore order as reception centers were overwhelmed and at least nine people died during the crossings. Those are the kinds of numbers and scenes that conservative Americans have been warning about for years.
Independent reporting shows the scale stunned even local officials — estimates put tens of thousands through the border in a short period, straining police, emergency services, and social programs and fueling confusion about the causes and who is responsible for managing the fallout. If European open-border experiments produce mass movement this fast, the idea that robust borders and enforced immigration laws don’t matter is exposed as dangerous fantasy.
The takeaway for the United States is painfully simple: porous borders and permissive policies invite crisis. Political elites who wave away enforcement, expand amnesty, or reward illegal entry are not showing compassion so much as courting chaos; the human cost and the fiscal burden fall on working families, hospitals, and law enforcement who did nothing to deserve it.

We should take the Spain example as a wake-up call, not an excuse for more hand-wringing and inaction. Patriot voters must demand lawmakers stop treating national security like a partisan talking point and start treating borders as the foundation of a functioning country; when America’s safety and prosperity are on the line, words are not enough — action is.
