In a statement, former President Donald Trump criticized the security detail of Joe Biden, who was the US's vice president, at his home in Delaware.
Trump used the Truth Social platform to address the scandal regarding the classified documents that were found at Biden's home.
"In response, the White House released a statement, which stated that there were no logs or security reports regarding the visitors to Biden's home."
"In his statement, Trump referred to the location where highly classified documents were stored. He noted that his Mar-a-Lago resort is very secure. There, multiple security cameras are monitored by the US Secret Service."
In response, James Comer, the chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, asked White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain to provide logs regarding the visitors to the home of Biden.
The White House noted that Biden did not maintain records of the individuals who visited his home after becoming the president.
"Ian Sams, a White House spokesperson, said that like other presidents, Biden's personal residence is a private matter. However, after becoming the president, he established a tradition of keeping records of the people who visited the White House."
According to Biden's lawyers, they found classified documents that were related to his time as the vice president under former President Barack Obama.
The president's lawyers revealed that they found five additional pages of classified documents at Biden's home. The documents were discovered in November. Details about the documents were revealed last week after a report by CBS News.
A special counsel was appointed by US Attorney General Garland to investigate the former vice president's actions regarding the documents. A separate investigation is also being conducted by a special counsel to look into the mishandling of classified information by Trump.
In August, the FBI raided Trump's home in Florida. The former president noted that the documents were declassified.
