Over the past weeks U.S. forces have struck Iranian facilities tied to attacks on shipping and Iran-backed proxy infrastructure, and CENTCOM has moved to protect the vital Strait of Hormuz that powers the world economy. Tehran’s attempt to choke trade and bully maritime traffic demanded a robust response, and the U.S. rightly hit back where it hurts Iran’s ability to sow chaos.
Tehran and its proxies answered with missile barrages, attacks on tankers and stepped-up operations by Houthi forces and militias in Iraq, proving once again that appeasement only buys more violence. America cannot allow Iranian proxies to terrorize our allies, harass commercial shipping, or test U.S. resolve without consequences.
Our military posture shows seriousness: carriers repositioned, additional forces extended, and missions like Project Freedom aimed at keeping the Hormuz choke-point open while degrading Iran’s capacity to strike. This is the kind of decisive deterrence our commanders must have, and it’s a relief to see strategy matched with strength.
Enough of the hand-wringing from left-leaning pundits who clutch their pearls while Iran tightens the noose; weakness invites war, strength prevents it. The American people deserve leaders who protect American interests first, not endless lectures about diplomacy while our fleets and merchants are under fire.
Now is the time for Congress and the public to stand squarely behind the men and women in uniform, demand clear rules of engagement, and ensure our military has the munitions and political backing to finish the job. Hardworking Americans want peace through strength, and that is exactly what will keep our shores and global trade routes safe from Iran’s aggression.
