WATCH: Antifa and Leftists Protest Over Conservative Visit at New Mexico Campus

Charlie Kirk, the founder of the conservative think tank Turning Point USA, was confronted by protesters during a speech at the University of New Mexico. This is all according to a report from the Washington Examiner.

In a video posted on Twitter, Kirk showed the protesters surrounding the building where he was speaking. They then began to chant "f*** Charlie Kirk." Similar protests forced the cancellation of events for other conservative speakers, such as Ian Haworth and Tomi Lahren.

Despite the protests, the event continued. Kirk referred to the protesters as violent agitators, and he also referred to them as "lunatic" individuals. At one point, he even tried to wave at the protesters from the balcony of the venue where he was scheduled to speak.

The police, deployed in riot gear, soon arrived to remove the protesters from the area near the building. The protesters then started to clash with the officers. Some of them were also heard calling the police officers "f***ing cowards."

A student was among the three individuals who were detained by the police. They were then issued court summonses, and the university stated that no arrests were made. The charges they faced were interference with public officials and staff members.

The university stated that Kirk's appearance on campus was not endorsed by the university. It was also clear that he was invited by a student group.
