Joe Biden’s recent proposal to reduce Medicare Advantage payments has caused an uproar among both elderly Americans and Republicans. During Biden’s State of the Union address, he accused Republicans of wanting to cut Medicare, while he himself proposed a Medicare cut, which was later revealed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The proposed cut would reduce payments to Medicare Advantage by an average of 2.3 percent, resulting in a $4.7 billion reduction in the program.
