U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka’s proposal to ban gas stoves flies in the face of common sense and sound science. It’s just another example of the radical and out-of-touch agenda that some Washington bureaucrats are pushing.
Gas stoves are not only perfectly safe, but they have been a staple of American households for generations. In fact, they are a symbol of individual choice and freedom that has made our country great. But now, the radical left wants to take that choice away from us and force us to use electric stoves, which are less efficient and more expensive.
Trumka falsely argues that gas stoves are a “dangerous hazard” causing “indoor pollution.” This is simply not true. Gas stoves are clean burning, and the latest models are designed to be even more efficient and environmentally friendly than ever before. The real danger is the forced transition to electric, which will hurt the poor and middle class with exponential energy cost increases.
Junk. We have used gas stoves for hundreds of years. There is no correlation between an increase in childhood asthma and their use. This is an overreach based on a subjective hypothesis from a bad study. More fodder in the war on gas that will hurt low-income homes and small biz. pic.twitter.com/i3mOlT5T9D

Unfortunately, in New York, starting today, all gas hookups on new buildings are banned. This includes hookups for gas furnaces and gas stoves. This move is a clear example of the radical left’s agenda and their willingness to infringe on the rights of individuals and businesses alike.
It’s time for Americans to stand up against this radical agenda and protect our right to choose. We need to tell Trumka and the Consumer Product Safety Commission that we won’t accept these baseless bans on gas stoves or any other products that we choose to use in our own homes.
