Former CNN anchor John Avlon has traded his TV studio for the campaign trail, announcing his bid to run for the congressional seat in New York’s first district. The audacity! Avlon is hoping to unseat the Republican incumbent, Rep. Nicholas LaLota, in a bid to “defeat Donald Trump” and supposedly save democracy. Typical liberal elite, always thinking they know better than the hardworking Americans who actually voted for Trump in the first place.
Avlon, who recently departed CNN after a long 14-year stint as an anchor and political analyst, is singing the same old tune of the radical left. He’s preaching about the need to build a coalition to take down Trump and his supporters, as if they’re the villains in a superhero movie. News flash, Avlon, Trump won fair and square in 2016, and his “minions” are just regular folks who are tired of politicians like you looking down on them from your ivory tower.

The former CNN talking head is spewing the typical Democrat talking points about rebuilding the middle class, investing in infrastructure, protecting reproductive freedoms (code for abortion on demand), and combating climate change (read: imposing job-killing regulations on hardworking Americans). Democrats can’t afford to lose this fight, Avlon claims. Well, maybe if they stopped trying to push their radical agenda down everyone’s throats, they wouldn’t have to worry about losing in the first place.
Avlon’s candidacy is nothing more than a ploy by the liberal elite to maintain their grip on power. He’s being advised by a former Democratic congressman, Steve Israel, which tells you everything you need to know about where his loyalties lie. And let’s not forget his support for removing President Trump from state primary ballots based on some obscure clause in the 14th Amendment. Desperate much?
In conclusion, John Avlon’s entrance into the political arena is just another example of a out-of-touch liberal trying to impose their will on the American people. But mark my words, real Americans won’t stand for it. We’ll see come election day who the voters in New York’s first district really want representing them – a true conservative like Rep. LaLota, or a CNN has-been looking to score political points.
