The Democrats continue to play an elaborate game of legal charades against Donald Trump, and it seems their efforts resemble more of a circus act than a serious attempt at justice. They have painted Trump as a would-be dictator, but in reality, their narrative has failed to capture the imagination of the American public. With many citizens no longer buying into the absurd narrative surrounding January 6, the idea of Trump as some sort of insurrectionist has become about as believable as the tooth fairy. The left’s attempts to portray him as a serial lawbreaker have fizzled as well, proving to be a classical case of “crying wolf.”
In Georgia, the Democrats’ hopes crumbled under the weight of District Attorney Fani Willis’ apparent bias, which has left their election interference charges floundering like a fish out of water. Meanwhile, Letitia James’ ongoing fraud case is appealing—quite literally! Trump is challenging the claims that so far have only exposed James’ flimsy grasp on New York business practices. It seems the only thing that might end up in a jam here is James’ credibility once the dust settles.
Then there’s Jack Smith and his classified documents case, which hit a brick wall thanks to the fact that a sitting president essentially holds a magic wand when it comes to declassifying documents. As if that weren’t enough, Smith quickly abandoned his desperate charges of “insurrection” after their theatrical failure. Watching the legal maneuvers play out could almost be entertaining if the stakes weren’t so high for the future of the nation.
The jewel in the crown of these absurd prosecutions has to be Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s ludicrous case, in which Trump was hit with 34 felony charges for business practices that are as routine as the morning coffee run. Elevated to felony status under suspicious pretenses of “election interference,” these charges make one wonder if Bragg thinks he’s conducting a criminal investigation or a TV drama. Not surprisingly, the state even tweaked its statute of limitations just to ensure a courtroom cameo from the former president.
Will this be what pushes the military to step in? 👀

With Trump’s sentencing scheduled just ten days before his inauguration, it appears the Democrats are banking on creating a media frenzy that they hope will revitalize their floundering hopes for the future. Although Judge Merchan hinted he wouldn’t be tossing Trump into prison, the optics of having a convicted felon taking the oath of office is likely too juicy for the left to resist. In their minds, this would empower them to needlessly undermine Trump’s presidency from the very beginning, buttressing yet another attack against the legitimacy of his administration. Nevertheless, the rush to get this formatting in place for the “convicted felon” label may backfire once again, as it will only bolster Trump’s appeal for many voters who see the left’s tactics as purely political witch hunts.
It might be too much to expect the Democrats to recognize their own failures and let it go. Admitting defeat would require them to confess that this entire charade was built on a shaky foundation of balderdash and desperation. Instead, they keep the charade going, desperately clinging to the narrative in hopes of avoiding the inevitable—it’s time to recognize that Trump’s return to power is becoming increasingly likely, and nothing they do seems to derail that train.
