Ro Khanna floating expansion and other radical reforms as part of a Democratic “expanded playbook.”
Rep. Ro Khanna went on national television this week to argue for term limits and even an expansion of the Court after a recent voting‑rights decision, framing it as a necessary fix to a “morally bankrupt” bench. Whether he frames it as “depoliticizing” the judiciary or correcting perceived wrongs, the result would be a partisan reengineering of an institution meant to sit above politics.
Kamala Harris has likewise suggested Democrats should brainstorm an “expanded playbook” that explicitly includes expanding the number of justices, alongside proposals to remake the electoral map and federal structure.
