Judge Drops Hammer on Bogus Trump Lawsuit!

The American Tribune has blown the roof off a hush-hush update on the ongoing case against former President Donald Trump over the January 6th Capitol incident. They reported that a gutsy federal judge has partially tossed out the frivolous allegations that Trump was somehow to blame for the death of a Capitol police officer during the chaos.

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta laid down the law, declaring that the case brought by the officer’s former partner didn’t hold water because, get this, they weren’t even legally hitched when the officer tragically passed away. In a 12-page mic drop moment, Mehta basically said, “Sorry, try again,” pointing out that the officer’s former girlfriend hadn’t followed the proper procedures to be recognized as his significant other under D.C. law.

The officer, Brian Sicknick, sadly passed from natural causes the day after the Capitol ruckus. But Sandra Garza, his partner of facts, decided to sue Trump and a couple of protestors, claiming they somehow stirred up an event that led to Sicknick’s fatal stroke. She wanted compensation for wrongful death, civil rights conspiracy, and alleged negligence.

But Judge Mehta wasn’t buying it. He shut down her wrongful death claim faster than you can say “frivolous lawsuit,” explaining that her “domestic partner” status wasn’t legit and that her argument had as much support as a house of cards in a hurricane.

And folks, this isn’t the first time President Trump’s been hit with a nuisance lawsuit over this whole mess. Other civil suits have already taken a pass on the idea that Trump might be legally responsible for what went down on January 6th. Seems like common sense is prevailing in the courts at least.

But hold onto your hats, because the best part is yet to come. Despite getting a big ol’ smackdown from the judge, Garza’s attorney, Mark Zaid, told Fox News that they’re not throwing in the towel just yet. They’re still hoping to pester President Trump with a deposition (that’s lawyer talk for grilling someone with questions) because nothing says “justice” quite like dragging someone through the mud in court, right?

And as if that’s not enough, Trump’s still got not one, but two federal cases hanging over his head, thanks to Biden’s Justice Department special counsel, Jack Smith. The first trial is set to start on March 4th, but hold the phone, there’s a question of whether Trump’s immunity might just save him from having to face the music. Hey, if only we all had a “get out of jail free” card like that, eh?
