Liberal Media Downplays Trump Assassination Attempt Suggests Injury Was Just a Graze

Another day, another attempt by the liberal media to twist the truth into a pretzel. Newsweek, that bastion of leftist propaganda, has hit a new low with its latest headline suggesting that former President Donald Trump might not have really been shot during his recent Pennsylvania rally. Yes, folks, the outlet is claiming that a bullet merely grazed his ear, and perhaps shrapnel is to blame. One has to wonder if they’ve taken a few too many liberties with their fact-checking—or if they’ve run out of effective talking points.

The article, provocatively titled “Donald Trump Might Not Have Been Shot After All,” tries to downplay the gravity of an attempted assassination by speculating on whether the GOP nominee actually got hit by a bullet or if he merely had an unfortunate run-in with some wayward debris. This audacious narrative shift came directly after FBI Director Christopher Wray, known for his cautious approach, raised doubts about the incident. It’s slightly ironic that the same news organization that has consistently clung to the “trust the experts” mantra is now using the FBI director’s half-hearted skepticism as a springboard to question Trump’s reality.

Even more astonishing was Trump’s physical response immediately after the assailant fired shots. With blood dripping from his face, he stood defiantly, claiming that he felt the bullet tearing through his skin. Yet, according to the progressive fact-checkers at Newsweek, this was merely a theatrical moment staged to garner sympathy from voters ahead of the election. Who would have thought that the media could become more farcical than reality itself? Comedy clubs might start taking notes from the antics of these so-called journalists.

Predictably, it wasn’t just Newsweek that hit this new peak of absurdity. Over on MSNBC, the ever-eloquent Joy Reid and former ESPN star Keith Olbermann joined in the chorus, asserting that Trump wasn’t hit at all. Olbermann even sarcastically affirmed that Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former physician, isn’t a real doctor. Apparently, he missed the memo that calling someone a “doctor” doesn’t require a degree from Hogwarts to be taken seriously in the liberal playbook.

Even tennis icon Martina Navratilova jumped into the fray, absurdly labeling Trump’s bandage from the incident as merely a “PR stunt.” This is the same media that elevates celebrity opinions above qualified individuals, all while focusing their cameras on the inexplicable logic used to craft their narratives. At this rate, it might be time for these leftist commentators to reconsider their professions—stand-up comedy might suit them better than reporting the news.
