On Wednesday, it appeared as though President Joe Biden made a false statement when he said that his late son, Beau, lost his life in Iraq.
The president, while delivering a speech in Colorado in order to announce the designation of Camp Hale as a national monument, spoke about the numerous sacrifices that service members make before using his son Beau as an example.
I say this as a father of a man who got the Bronze Star, the outstanding service award, and lost his life in Iraq, Biden added. I say this as a parent of a man who gave his life for our country.
Despite the fact that Biden's son did serve in Iraq, he passed away in 2015 from brain cancer.

When giving a speech at an event held at the White House in late September, the President gave what appeared to be a shout-out to former Representative Jackie Walorski (R-IN), who has since passed away.
Jackie, can you please come here? Where can I find Jackie? Biden asked.
He continued, I didn't expect she was going to be here, adding his surprise at her presence.
