Thomas Matthew Crooks has entered the headlines for all the wrong reasons, turning into a poster child for how a frenzied allegiance to President Joe Biden can spiral into potential violence. This twist came to light thanks to Andrew Torba, the founder of Gab, who recently unearthed some social media posts allegedly linked to Crooks. Although the evidence may not be Watertight Joe’s favorite pool of faith, his posts are apparently dripping with Biden worship, further fueling the narrative that deranged lefties have taken over the conversation.
Crooks, who was arrested for attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump, has apparently not posted much on Gab since 2021. Andrew Torba distilled the facts into a message on X, revealing that Crooks made a staggering total of nine posts — most of which seemed to bow down to the Biden administration. This begs the question: when was the last time Biden’s supporters were just seen getting ice cream instead of plotting political assassinations?

The Gab founder made it clear that while they’re unable to confirm the authenticity of the account, the red flags are hard to ignore. Even if the nine posts aren’t enough to form a legal case against Crooks, they paint a picture of someone who definitely aligned themselves with the very policies that led to the chaos in America. Those posts reportedly praised Biden’s COVID lockdowns and other executive orders, illustrating what could only be termed sheer lunacy in the face of common sense.
What might be even more shocking is the claim that Gab disclosed the information due to an emergency request from law enforcement. This raises eyebrows about how seriously the authorities are taking threats against Trump while facilitating the less-than-stellar agenda of a failing president. The narratives around Crooks’ social media footprints inevitably lead to a dangerous game of political blame, and conservatives are left to wonder if it will be the Democrats who try to bury this scandal as they’ve done with past sins.
Interestingly enough, the FBI is still playing catch-up, unable to determine Crooks’ exact motivations. With an entire department scrambling for context from social media messages, one must ponder the sorry state of affairs when law enforcement can’t connect the dots between Biden worship and violent tendencies. The simple fact is that if someone is willing to target the leader of a nation, their political beliefs must surely factor into the equation, but our current FBI seems to be more interested in political narratives than actual investigations.
Such developments bring up larger questions about the ideological divides in this country and the lengths to which some individuals will go to express their grievances. As the pieces continue to fall into place, it becomes abundantly clear that some on the left have strayed well beyond political discourse, entering the domain of outright threats. So while Crooks may have issued his Twitter rants with the sort of fervor only seen in a die-hard political fan, it’s still shocking that we find ourselves in a world where such loyalty to a president can lead to a full-blown assassination attempt on a former one.
